It has come to our attention that unauthorized individuals are posting false job advertisements on LinkedIn and other platforms, posing as representatives of our company, AKE. These fraudulent actors are using email addresses that look similar to ours to contact individuals with fake recruitment offers.

We want to clarify that:
  1. We will never request personal information or ask for / offer payments as part of the recruitment process.
  2. We will never ask you to contact us via messaging apps such as Telegram or Signal.
  3. We never disclose a specific salary range or amount.

AKE Brazil Intelligence and Security Specialist

AKE International is recruiting for the position of Brazil Intelligence and Security Specialist to join a dynamic intelligence team in providing bespoke risk consulting for a multinational company in the energy sector. This full-time position will be embedded in the client’s team in either Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo.

The Brazil Analyst will maintain an effective information collection network, generate a range reports to alert key personnel of relevant threats to security and business activity in Brazil,  lead on local incident and trend analysis to assist security and business activities, and monitor security trends.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Assessing national level threats and drafting assessments (including monthly reports, flash reports and intelligence briefs to in-country leadership).
  • Intelligence collection and analysis to support the company’s decision making process.
  • Management of information databases to ensure long term trends of security activity can be effectively monitored.
  • Enhancing local and national intelligence networks.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English, with excellent verbal skills and ability to write in a clear and concise manner.Spanish is desirable.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree but be preferably educated to post-graduate level in a relevant discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of Brazil (politics, history, culture, security, regional context)
  • A demonstrated ability to both work within a team and independently.
  • Highly organised with effective time management skills.
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbally, to present complex regional developments.
  • Experience with open source intelligence tools and techniques.

AKE Remote Internship Scheme

AKE International is recruiting interns for its four-month remote, voluntary internship scheme. 

Applicants should have an excellent command of written English, a demonstrable background in international politics, security or a related field and preferably be working towards a master’s degree or equivalent experience. As this is a remote programme, applicants must have reliable internet access. 

Please note that while this is a voluntary scheme, we aim to provide applicants with feedback and training as well as help and advice with future careers.  

Applicants should have a specialist interest in one of the below regions or areas and should specify in the subject line of their application which desk they are applying for.  

Each applicant may only apply for one desk: 

  • MENA
  • APAC

Duties and responsibilities may include: 

  • Contribute to AKE’s Daily Risk Updates. 
  • Contribute to updating AKE’s online risk platform Global Intake, including Political Violence and Kidnap & Ransom. 
  • Assist in political risk consulting projects. 
  • Provide analytical intelligence for a range of public and private sector clients. 
  • Provide internal company reports and briefings. 

Requirements: 

  • Candidates should be specialists in one of the aforementioned regions or areas and specify this regional/area interest in the subject line of their emailed application 
  • Candidates should only apply if they have sufficient time to contribute to the internship programme, usually around 10 hours per week. Although the tasks that candidates are requested to complete do vary, most interns are asked to contribute to AKE’s Daily Risk Updates, which will require a commitment of around two hours each weekday. 
  • Candidates should have a familiarity with political, economic and security trends in the relevant region/area and must be able to produce clear and concise analysis of pertinent events. 
  • Candidates will at least be working toward a bachelor’s degree but be preferably educated to post-graduate level in a relevant discipline. It would be advantageous to have some experience of the business sectors within which AKE works. 
  • Knowledge of one or more relevant regional languages is preferable.
